Trip 99 - Thursday Evening - August 6th

No images, I forgot the camera.

I went down to size up what was needed to get the mast up and hook up the propellum shaft to the engine.

I got the joint connector between the two pieces in line and bolted in place. Then adjusted the shaft seal. This took a while, and is looking good now.

The engine runs really well.

I moved the mast forward in it holders, to get at the wire going to the top and which lights the anchor light. A 360 degree lamp that must be visible for at least 2 miles for my size boat. Jury rigged an extension cord to reach the battery.

I reworked an Led bulb I found on eBay to fit in the enclosure. Led's have a rated life of 10-20,000 hours and the regular kind of incandescent lamp the Led replaces, is much shorter than that. Plus, the Led version draws far less current. In my case, at 12v, the lamp draws 1/8 of an amp. And is it bright and I am not concerned of going to the top of the mast for a burned out lamp up there.

That was the trip and now I am prepped for the Big Push this weekend.
