Trip 59 - Saturday - December 6th
It has been a couple weeks since I was in Lake City. Island Sunset has been shrink wrapped, and I wanted to see how that turned out and remove the head and holding tank.
One cold day it was what with wind coming right down the lake and flags straight out.

If you look carefully, on the side of the plastic, near the transom, there is a panel that has been added. This is a zippered doorway for me to get in and out of.
The shrinkwrap is very durable and an industrial strength heat gun is used to apply it and shrink it. A shop in town does a great job of it.

From the inside. In time, gloves, stocking cap and jacket were not needed. My toes'ies got cold tho.

It took a couple minutes to figure out why the charger was not charging.
Duuuh ...

Here is the fitting that can not be rotated and the holding tank will not come out.
The big "L" shaped white one for those from Loma Linde. Not the black one.

This is a Roto-Zip. The bit is actually a router type bit, not a drill.

In a minute, the panel is history.

Can't get some tubing off the fitting? Warm it for a while.

How to remove a head with tubing that is really stuck? Piece by piece.
Don't wanna mess of water and antifreeze when the bowl is removed? Stuff a towel in there for a while.

And, gone ...

Lake Pepin in winter. It is about fifteen to twenty miles to the far end.

Am I trashing the car adequately?

My little buddy, Annie, came with. She, is a bit slow. Charming as heck, but slow. She knows a couple phrases and one of them is "Car Ride". Boy, does she perk up!
Another trip will be made to ascertain if the new water tank will fit forward of the holding tank and to measure for the galley and lockers and hatches and then, remove all my tools and work at home for a while.
Later ...
