Sail - Saturday - October 4th - #14

The day after my brother's birthday. He is 52. He is one of the kindest, most gentle men I have known in my lifetime. He likes horses and buggies and puppies. Has a small hobby farm outside of our home town of Benson, Mn.

Tim and Tom joined Marcia and myself on a day sail across to Pepin, Wisc, for lunch, back up the lake on a beautiful tack, then back to the barn.

Tim made certain all sails and trim were Tack Sharp and of finest form. A member of the Admiral's Staff, the honored and decorated Rr Adm Dokken, sat back and enjoyed the ride, what with the full crew present.

This fellow will shrink wrap his boat. So are we, when it is "On The Hard".

A Motley Crew. And, to think, all the beverages were non-alchoholic. What a pity on such a cold day. 50-60's all day long.

A bow image.

A quieter moment and more hot chocolate.

Yes, The Boate is tipping and on this leg, Marcia certainly enjoyed going "fast" and 25-30-35 degree lists. I think she had a really good feeling for sailing is all about today even tho it was cool.

Going "Fast". Watching the waves and bubbles swoosh past. Converting raw wind into raw speed.

The GPS receiver is the tiny thing about the size of a pack of cigarettes on the deck just to her left and under the Tilt-Meter..

And from the bow and you can see the bow splash.

Guess what?

This winter, I am going to pull all the plumbing for the head, holding tank and water tank and make certain all are clean and will not leak and then replace all the tubing and clamps. Do not know if I will get a Rebuild Kit for the Head ($75) or simply buy a new one ($150).

Later ...
